Key points—not the full agreement

Perfect Start records video and sound, uploads the recording for movement analysis, and returns a replay. We delete the source and replay videos from our servers 30 days after the start is recorded. The timing and movement numbers stay in the rider’s history.

Deleting our copy is not the same as deleting yours. A video already saved on a phone or tablet stays there until somebody removes it. Only the account that holds a rider can erase that rider’s start everywhere, including from the devices that recorded it.

Accounts are for adults aged 18 or over. If you add a child, you must be their parent or legal guardian and be physically present for every run. The child can say no or stop.

A rider QR card only assigns a run to the right consented profile. Possessing or printing a QR code is not, by itself, permission to film anybody.

Club coach

Before you coach a session

Key points—not the full agreement

You can watch starts recorded for your club and add coaching feedback. The rider still owns their history and their parent or guardian makes any permission decisions for a child.

You must use recordings only for the session and authorised coaching. You cannot download, screen-record, photograph, copy or share a replay. Do not save one to a personal device, photo library or messaging group.

Check that the rider is willing to be filmed, follow the capture notice and safeguarding rules, stop if a child objects, and report a wrong assignment, lost device, accidental recording or safeguarding concern promptly.

Before you record

Set up somewhere safe

A gate start is a maximal effort and this app plays a randomised cadence, so a rider cannot anticipate the release. Set up for that.

Not on a road, footway, or anywhere with traffic. Nothing to ride off — no kerbs, steps or driveway lips. If you are using a start block or gate, it must be stable under load. Nothing attached to a live or moving gate.

Perfect Start measures a start. It is not a coach, a safety system or a medical device, and a replay is an estimate from video. Section 8 of the terms has the full version.

New profile

Add a rider

The year only — we do not ask for a birthday. It is how we can tell who is a child if we are ever asked; it does not change how this rider is treated, because every rider gets the same protections either way.

Super admin

Add a club

The owner holds the club’s licence and is the only person who can add or remove its coaches. Once there is a payment wall, this is the account that goes through it.

Club licence

Add a coach

A coach can run this club’s sessions and see every start taken in them. It grants nothing over any rider profile, and they need not have signed in yet.

Permanent deletion

Delete this video?

The source recording and replay will be permanently deleted from the server. The start and its timing and movement numbers will remain in the rider’s history.

Our copy goes automatically 30 days after the start anyway. This is the other deletion: it also removes the video from the phones and tablets that hold it.

The next time the recorder opens Perfect Start, this video will also be removed from every recording device that has connected to that account. This cannot be undone and the video cannot be recovered.
